The Speakers Series* Now Zooming to you!
| In 2000, a long-time friend of the Sisters of the Divine Compassion offered to fund a speaker series to explore Compassion in the 21st Century. Since then, some of the finest theologians, social activists, spiritual mentors, and authors have participated in our program, sharing their unique perspectives on this universal charism. Past presenters have included:
The 18th Contemporary Contexts
White Privilege and the Common Good
– The other pandemic is racism –
Maria Teresa Davila invites us to explore the concept of “White Privilege” and its intersection with the Common Good
María Teresa (MT) Dávila is an associate professor of practice at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. Her publications and courses focus on immigration, racism and racial justice, class and inequality, Catholic social teaching and the ethics of the use of force.
This timely presentation comes at a moment in our national life that continues to show us that the conversation is long overdue.
